The Tortoise and the Hare
🐢 The Tortoise and the Hare – A Story of Patience and Perseverance
🌿 Introduction
“The Tortoise and the Hare” is one of Aesop’s most famous fables.
It teaches us that overconfidence and carelessness often lead to failure,
while patience, determination, and consistency are the real keys to success.
📖 The Story
Once upon a time, in a green forest, there lived a fast, proud hare who loved boasting about his speed.

He would laugh and say:
“No one in this forest can run faster than me! I’m unbeatable!”

The other animals would nod silently, until one day, a slow but steady tortoise stepped forward and said:
“Hare, I challenge you to a race.”

All the animals gasped. The hare laughed loudly and replied:
“You? Race against me? You move like a snail!”

The tortoise calmly said:
“We’ll see. Slow and steady wins the race.”

On the day of the race, all the animals gathered to watch.
The fox waved the flag — and the race began!

The hare ran at lightning speed, soon leaving the tortoise far behind.
The tortoise moved slowly but never stopped.

After a while, the hare looked back and laughed.
“That tortoise is miles away! I’ll take a nap; I’ve already won!”

He lay down under a shady tree and fell fast asleep.
Meanwhile, the tortoise kept walking — slowly, step by step — without stopping or getting distracted.
He didn’t care how far behind he seemed; he just kept moving forward.

Eventually, the tortoise reached the finish line, just as the hare woke up in panic.
The hare ran as fast as he could — but it was too late.
The tortoise had already crossed the line!

The crowd of forest animals cheered loudly.
The hare bowed his head in shame, and the tortoise said:
“Slow and steady always wins the race.”
💡 Moral of the Story
“Slow and steady wins the race.”
“Pride leads to downfall; patience leads to victory.”
